1) 29 th July Garland Friday – Mass in St. Patrick’s
Oratory on the summit of Croagh Patrick at 10am.
2) 29 th July Friday evening – Open air Mass in Murrisk at
7.30pm , followed by a tree planting ceremony by Fr. Denis Carney,
Administrator of Westport Parish.
3) 30 th July Saturday evening – Mass in St. Mary’s
Church, Westport . Celebrated by Dr. Michael Neary, Archbishop of
Tuam.
Centenary book launch by Dr. Michael Neary in the Croagh Patrick
Information Centre at 8.30pm . – Book title Croagh Patrick – Ireland ’s
holy Mountain
4) 31 st July Reek Sunday – Mass celebrated by Dr. Michael
Neary in St. Patrick’s Oratory on the summit of Croagh Patrick
at 10.30am . After Mass Dr. Neary will unveil the centenary plaque,
which is positioned over the door of St. Patrick’s Oratory.
Mass will be celebrated every half an hour from 8am to 2pm .
All events are open to the public and parishioners are invited
to celebrate the centenary of St. Patrick’s Oratory.
St. Patrick’s Oratory.
It is planned to open St. Patrick’s Oratory on Croagh Patrick
each day from 11.30am to 4pm during July and August this centenary
year. A guide will be available to provide information or assistance
and pilgrims can sign a visitor’s book.

and Magic, Creideamh agus Draíocht- at the National Museum
of Country Life, Turlough Park , Castlebar, from May to October 2005. |
